LEC 2023 Summer Split: Teams, Schedule, Results & More

After the conclusion of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) in 2023, teams from across the globe went back to their drawing boards to prepare for the all-important League of Legends Summer Split. With the Korean and Chinese leagues already starting their respective Summer season, North America (NA) and EMEA [Europe, Middle East & Africa] will soon be kicking off their splits. To that effect, the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is scheduled to begin on 17th June.

Notably, the LEC underwent major changes to its format at the start of the year with the competitive season beginning with a Winter Slit, followed by the usual Spring and Summer Splits.

The LEC has currently only released the schedule for the first week of Summer and this article will be updated as and when the fixtures are rolled out.

A guide to the LEC 2023 Summer Split

The LEC 2023 Summer Split is the third split of the newly merged EMEA League of Legends system. This is the fifth year of the LEC and the first season following the changed format. The Summer split features three different stages. Stage 1 will see all ten teams competing in a best-of-one (BO1), single round-robin setup. Meanwhile, the top eight teams will advanced to Stage 2, a double elimination group stage. From here, the top four will make it to Stage 3, the double-elimination playoffs. Notably, Stages 2 and 3 will feature best-of-threes and fives, respectively.

Format

Stage 1 (Regular Season)

• 10 teams participate

• Single Round Robin

• Matches are best-of-one

• Top eight teams advance to Summer Groups

Stage 2 (Groups)

• Eight teams participate

• Teams will be split into two groups of four

• Double-elimination bracket

• Matches are best-of-three (BO3)

• Top two of each group advance to Stage 3

Stage 3 (Playoffs)

• Four teams participate

• Double-elimination bracket

• Matches are best-of-five (BO5)

Schedule for LEC’s Summer Split

The LEC Summer Split for 2023 is kicking off on 17th June 2023 and will feature intense League of Legends action. In the first stage of this season, teams will play for three weeks straight, with each team playing three matches per week. After the three weeks, the standings will determine who advances to Stage 2.
