Resolut1on Expresses Desire to Restart Dota 2 Career

Offlaner Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok, who last played for Team Secret, took to his personal Telegram channel to express his desire to start playing Dota 2 professionally once again. Interestingly, Resolut1on has decided to transition to support to accommodate himself to any potential teams. Role transitions are very common in the world of the Dota 2 pro scene. A similar move was made last year by 2x TI [The International] winner Sébastien “Ceb” Debs who went from an offlaner to a position-five support to fit in the new OG roster.

Resolut1on to Focus on Role Transition

On 3rd February, Resolut1on gave an important update on his Telegram channel. He said, “I’ve been playing Dota for a week now and I want to say that I haven’t gotten such a high from the game [in] a long time. I decided to go further into the deepening of the game and change roles again. This time I want to develop in the role of captain and support position 4-5.”

Furthermore, he also laid out his future plans and expressed enthusiasm for changing his role. He wrote, “My immediate plans are to reach a high level of understanding of these roles, to start streaming regularly after I put the computer in the villa, and to look out for teams and players with whom I will be interested to break into the pro scene.”

Notably, this is not the first role change in Resolut1on’s long career. He started as a midlaner with iCCup in 2013, and during his stint as a mid-laner, he won some notable tournaments including StarLadder StarSeries Season 11 (2015) with Team Empire, joinDOTA MLG Pro League Season 1 (2015) with Team Empire

In 2016, he transferred to Digital Chaos where he alternated between carry and mid-laner with Aliwi “w33” Omar. During this time, he impressively secured the second position at The International 2016. In 2017, after Digital Chaos disbanded its Dota 2 roster, Resolut1on joined Thunderbirds as its carry. He later secured first place at MDL Macau 2017 with OG.

Resolut1on once again changed his role from carry to offlaner when he rejoined Virtus.pro in 2019. As an offlaner, he impressively managed to secure the second position at The International 2022 once again, but this time with Team Secret.

Now, Resolut1on seems to be motivated to try the support position and try his hand at IGL’ing [in-game leader]. He will be looking to add one more role under his belt as a professional player.
