The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS): Season 1 is finally about to commence with 24 teams that have fought their way through the Battlegrounds Mobile India Open Challenge (BMOC) 2022 Round 4.

While some of these teams were directly invited to Round 4 of the qualifier tournament, others had to persevere through all six weeks of the event, right from the in-game qualifiers till the very last stage.

The road ahead is only going to get tougher as the best teams from across the country go against each other multiple times from 19^th May to 12^th June, competing for a total prize pool of INR 2,00,00,000 ($260,054 USD) which is being touted as “The biggest prize pool in Indian esports history” by Krafton.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) Season 1: Complete Details

Unlike the BMOC 2022 where KRAFTON had organized the grassroots level qualifier tournament along with Tesseract Esports, the developers have taken on the responsibility of conducting the BMPS Season 1 alone with LOCO and iQOO as its sponsors.

Qualifying Teams

A total of 64 BGMI teams had locked horns in the BMOC 2022 Round 4, 50% of these teams had made their way through the open qualifiers while the other half had been directly invited.

After five days of intense competition, 24 teams managed to qualify for BMPS Season 1, these teams are as follows:

Here are the details related to how these 24 teams have been divided into three groups of eight teams each.

Format and Schedule

The BMPS Season 1 will witness a combination of top tier and underdog newcomer teams locking horns across two different stages, information about which is as follows,

• In the League Stage, the 24 qualified teams will be split into three mixed groups of eight teams each, taking on each other following a round-robin format across three weeks – 19^th May to 5^th June.

• Here, each week will witness four game days with six matches being played every day, resulting in a total of 24 matches every week and a cumulative total of 72 matches across the entire League Stage.

• This means that each group will be playing 16 matches every week and a cumulative total of 48 matches across the entire League Stage.

• Based on the performance of teams across all the matches, the top 16 teams will qualify ahead to the Grand Finals which are scheduled to take place from 9^th to 12^th June.

• Here, each day will witness six matches taking place, resulting in a total of 24 matches being played across the four days, and the team with the highest cumulative points will be crowned as the champion of BMPS Season 1.

Prize Pool Distribution

The BMPS Season 1 features a massive prize pool of INR 2,00,00,000 ($260,054 USD) which is being touted as the biggest total prize pool for a single tournament in the history of Indian esports.

This amount will be split between all the 16 teams that make it to the Grand Finals of the tournament, along with some individual and team accolades like MVP (Most Valuable Player), Most Finishes, Lone Survivor, and Rampage.

Livestream

The BMPS Season 1 will be streamed in two languages Hindi and English exclusively on Battlegrounds Mobile India’s official YouTube channel from 19^th May onwards on every match day. You can also watch it on Loco.gg or through the Loco app on your mobile devices.

The BMPS Season 1 is the first official BGMI tournament of the year by Krafton where 24 of the best teams will be competing for a massive prize pool. With some familiar names and a few new faces, this event will be both unpredictable and exciting which is bound to attract a lot of viewers.
