Thorin Claims That Valde and Dev1ce Might Join Astralis CS:GO Roster
Astralis has not been able to achieve much success in the 2022 competitive season so far, despite having made several changes to its lineup since November 2021. Early elimination from both PGL Antwerp Major 2022 and IEM Dallas 2022 has sent the team scurrying back to the drawing board.
As the struggle continues for the Danish esports organization and it tries to come up with possible solutions that does not seem to be working in its favor, Duncan “Thorin” Shields has come forward to claim that Valdemar “valde” Vangså and Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz might be making their way into the team.
He spoke about it during the first episode of a podcast called ‘Revenge of By the Numbers‘ which also featured Richard Lewis, where the two held discussions on various topics including the alleged transfer of the Danish players mentioned above moving over to Astralis.
Valde and Dev1ce could potentially join Astralis CS:GO team according to Thorin
During a recent podcast, Richard Lewis started off by speculating that OG would not have benched valde unless they did not have a possible deal for him on the table, hinting towards an alleged transfer to Astralis whose CS:GO roster is not looking in great shape at this point in time.
In a bid to bolster his assumption, Richard pointed out that valde’s current player agent was a former co-founder of Astralis who had previously worked with Nikolaj Nyholm, who is the current Chairman of the Board for Astralis.
“There is no way it’s not happening, valde has to be going to Astralis,” said Lewis, before handing over the topic to Thorin who further claimed that along with valde even dev1ce was on his way back to the Danish organization.
“Basically what I heard behind the scene is that, and I will be very careful of how much I say about this, but essentially the whole dev1ce and NIP [Ninjas in Pyjamas] thing wasn’t what it appears,” said Thorin, explaining that the reasons provided by both the parties were not exactly true.
Thorin points out that promises like ‘I finally want to be number one’, ‘NIP is five steps ahead’, made during the transfer “It wasn’t any of those things, as far as I can tell it had something to do with dev1ce’s personal life which has changed”
This was followed by his final statement on the matter, “I have heard valde goes there [Astralis] and yes I have heard that the prodigal son returns, dev1ce, comes back to Astralis so by the way if no one’s keeping a track, sorry farlig!”
Note: The related segment starts from 58:40 in the video above.
The discussion continued with the two going on to talk about how Astralis keeps ruining the career of young players like Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, Philip “Lucky” Ewald, and Asger “farlig” Jensen, all of them in the span of just 1.5 years.
The above information is just a claim made by Thorin and no such confirmation has been made by any of the players or the organizations involved, so do take this information with a grain of salt.
A thing to keep in mind is that a similar report about dev1ce considering a move back to Astralis had surfaced last year, but the player had dismissed everything himself calling them nothing but rumors.
