When will the England World Cup squad be announced?

The 2022 Qatar World Cup countdown is now well and truly underway with the first group stage game of the tournament set to kick off in less than three weeks.

Qatar vs Ecuador will be the opening game of the tournament with the Al Bayt Stadium set to play host to the first match at 4 p.m. on November 20th.

England will play their first game of the 2022 Qatar World Cup just one day later on November 21st, when they take on Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium.

When will the England World Cup squad be announced?

Gareth Southgate has already submitted a provisional 55-man squad list to FIFA with the initial submission taking place on October 21st.

The names included on the 55-man shortlist remain unknown to the public, but some inclusions have already been reported with Brighton’s Lewis Dunk and Danny Welbeck both rumoured to be included.

No full announcement of the extended shortlist will be made, with England fans having to wait until November 10th to see who will turn out for the Three Lions at the World Cup this winter.

The final 26-man squad will be announced by England manager Gareth Southgate on that date with FIFA’s deadline for submission being three days later on November 13th.
