DuBu Parts Ways With TSM, Will Possibly Return to SEA for 2023
While most of the post-TI (The International) roster shuffle news is currently coming from Southeast Asia (SEA), the North American (NA) region is seeing its fair share of the shuffle as well with TSM announcing the departure of Kim “DuBu” Doo-young.
DuBu has departed after two years of playing with the roster which comprised of David “MoonMeander” Tan’s Undying stack from TI10 (The International 2021) before being signed by the NA organization in late 2021
While the NA team had a great season, in which it placed second at ESL One Stockholm Major, the team’s performance afterwards was not up to the mark as it placed in the bottom four at TI11.
DuBu doesn’t rule out a return to the SEA region
TSM made its entry into the Dota 2 franchise this year by signing David “MoonMeander” Tan’s Undying stack after TI10. While the NA organization did manage to qualify for TI11 (The International 2022) by finishing second at the Stockholm Major, the team’s performance went downhill from there on. The team eventually got eliminated from TI11. It placed in the bottom four, as it failed to advance from the group stage.
With the off-season currently ongoing with transfers and rumors, TSM is looking to rebuild themselves as it announced the departure of hard support Kim “DuBu” Doo-young from the active roster.
Following the announcement, DuBu stated that everything was fine, during a livestream. He said roster shuffles are a part of the scene and he joked around with his viewers. This suggests that both TSM and himself parted on good terms.
When a viewer asked the South Korean support about the possibility of him returning to SEA for the 2022/2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, he replied by saying that “it depends on the team that I’ll be joining.” However, DuBu also noted that he will be interested in becoming a captain for his team, saying that it would be an interesting opportunity.
As of now, TSM’s roster is as follows:
-
Enzo “Timado” O’Connor
-
Jonathan “Bryle” Guia
-
Jonáš “SabeRLight-“ Volek
-
David “MoonMeander” Tan
As of now, there is no further update regarding the future of TSM’s current players but the community can expect more updates in the upcoming weeks.
