Team Legacy Removed From Division II of NA DPC 2023

Earlier today, tournament organizers for the upcoming North American (NA) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2023 PGL have announced that the NA team, Team Legacy, has been removed from the second division of the NA DPC 2023. During the off-season, Team Legacy dominated the NA Closed Qualifiers as it became the first team to qualify for Division II in the NA region for 2023.

However, their efforts during the Closed Qualifiers ultimately ended up in vain following the announcement from PGL.

CDUB Esports to replace Team Legacy in Division II of NA DPC

In a public statement on Twitter, NA DPC organizers for the 2022/2023 season, PGL announced that Team Legacy have been removed from the second division of the DPC 2023 NA Winter Tour.

While the tournament organizers gave no specific reason behind Team Legacy’s removal, PGL noted that the decision was made after the team was found no longer eligible to play in the upcoming DPC tour which left many confused.

While many within the community were joking about Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner’s Arkosh Gaming now being able to step in for Team Legacy after the former failed to qualify for Division II, the spot was ultimately handed to the NA Closed Qualifiers’ third place finishers, CDUB Esports. 

As of late, many teams and players were severely punished by tournament organizers with either a permanent ban or removal from the regional league. One of the latest stories include Myanmar-based organization Yangon Galacticos, where the organization was disqualified from the Closed Qualifiers of the Southeast Asian (SEA) DPC following allegations of its carry player being involved with scripting during matches.
