We’re heading towards the business end of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season and the double gameweeks are coming thick and fast now.

Brighton have arguably the most favourable Double Gameweek of GW27, as well as a good-looking double in GW29, which makes investing in the Seagulls’ assets a must.

If it’s a defender you’re after, then Pervis Estupinan (£4.7m) is THE player to own as we head into GW26.

We’re here to break down Estupinan as an FPL asset based on his form, fixtures and upcoming opponents.

Form

According to the official FPL form rating, Pervis Estupinan is one of the most in-form defenders in Fantasy right now, second only to Spurs’ Emerson Royal (£4.9m).

The Ecuadorian full-back has not failed to produce a return of fewer than six points in each of the last five gameweeks, amassing 36 points in total.

The attacking left-back has three assists and three clean sheets to his name over the course of the past five games, whilst Brighton have won three matches, drawn two and lost one.

There’s a good chance that Estupinan picks up bonus points when Brighton keep a clean sheet too, having claimed two in GW24.

Fixtures

Brighton are one of just four teams that play twice in Gameweek 27, alongside Crystal Palace, Brentford and Southampton.

The Seagulls then have another double just two weeks later in GW29, along with eleven other PL clubs.

Brighton’s next six Premier League fixtures are as follows:

  • GW26 – West Ham (H)
  • GW27 – Leeds (A)
  • GW27 – Crystal Palace (H)
  • GW28 – Manchester United (H)
  • GW29 – Brentford (H)
  • GW29 – Bournemouth (A)

As you can see from the above list, Brighton will play four matches at home within their next six games, where they have a record of five wins, two draws and four losses this season so far.

Opponents

Now, it’s time to take a more in-depth look at Brihgton’s upcoming opponents.

GW26 – Despite their impressive 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last time out, 16th-place West Ham have struggled to find the back of the net this season, having scored just 19 before that match.

GW27 – Like West Ham, Leeds did manage to pick up three points in GW24, however, the Whites currently sit in 17th place with a goal difference of -10.

GW27 – Crystal Palace have not won a match since back in December when they beat Bournemouth 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium. The Eagles have also kept just one clean sheet in their last seven PL games.

GW28 – Manchester United are in fine form at the moment and will be a tough test for Brighton, though the home fixture does swing the odds a little towards Brighton.

GW29 – Keeping a clean sheet against Brentford may be difficult, as the Bees have found the back of the net in 10 of their last 11 PL matches.

GW29 – Brighton beat Bournemouth 1-0 the last time the two teams met at the American Express Community Stadium back in early February.
