AEW Fight Forever: Release Date, Cover, Platforms, Roster & Game Modes
AEW Fight Forever may be a few short months away at this point, but new leaks have given us plenty of additional details.
Here’s everything we know so far about AEW Fight Forever including the likely release date, confirmed roster, game modes, cover, match types, and more.
AEW Fight Forever Release Date
The biggest question everyone will have is exactly when the game will arrive, and as of now the most likely AEW Fight Forever release date is September 2022.
This comes per a recent report by Fightful Select, but it’s possible that continued development could lead to a decision to postpone the release until they’re sure it’s ready.
While early listings on Amazon and Xtralife leaked major details, the listed release date on those of December 31, 2022 is not one likely to be true.
As of now, it’s believed that date is simply a placeholder by retailers who can’t enter the real date just yet, and using the final date of the year for that kind of placeholder is not uncommon for online retailers.
We’ve also recently received confirmation via Kenny Omega that THQ Nordic is on board as a publisher, and there’s a reason that name may be familiar to some fans.
Cover Stars & Confirmed Roster
The biggest recent detail to leak may be that one Xtralife listing has revealed the full AEW Fight Forever cover design.
As seen below, they’ve gone with a combo cover featuring CM Punk at the center with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Jade, and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. around him.
As for the official AEW Fight Forever roster, things are still a bit complicated as the names confirmed so far have come through several different sources.
Let’s break them down bit by bit, starting with the following AEW Fight Forever wrestlers that were confirmed by actual development footage, leaked in-game screenshots, or their presence on the cover shown above:
- Chris Jericho
- Kenny Omega
- Hikaru Shida
- Matt Jackson (The Young Bucks)
- Nick Jackson (The Young Bucks)
- Darby Allin
- Jungle Boy
- Nyla Rose
- Kris Statlander
- Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
- CM Punk
- Jon Moxley
- “Hangman” Adam Page
- Jade
- Abadon
- Yuka Sakazaki
In addition to the above names, a Fightful Select report in May stated that Sting, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, and Ruby Soho were all confirmed for the game.
We also believed that Owen Hart would be included due to language in the September 2021 press release announcing a partnership between AEW and the Owen Hart Foundation.
A new report in May from Bodyslam.net confirmed Owen Hart will indeed be in the game as a playable character.
Finally, we have more details here on why Cody Rhodes will still be in AEW Fight Forever despite having left the company to return to WWE.
Pre Order, Platforms & Price
While AEW has yet to formally announce the platforms and pre order details for AEW Fight Forever, new retailer listings have leaked many of those.
We now know per Amazon listings that AEW Fight Forever will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
On top of that, all the listings that have gone live have a standardized $59.99 price point for the title across all platforms with no price hike on next gen.
You can actually place a pre order already for AEW Fight Forever, but some fans may want to wait for the full trailer and release date confirmation.
We also don’t yet know if AEW Fight Forever will have any sort of Deluxe Edition with extra content or Early Access.
Game Modes & Features
Early details and reports by both Fightful Select and Mike Straw of SGO tipped off that story mode would be a primary focus for AEW Fight Forever, and there were early mentions that creation modes and online multiplayer were also in the works.
