Is the Upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Playable on PC?
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games are all set for the release of their newest Spider-Man 2. This time, the game incorporates elements from the previous games and also slots in a compelling narrative where players follow the lives of both Peter Parker and Mile Morales after the events of the first two games. Players can swap between the two protagonists and explore the virtual world of New York City from two corners of the map. The game also boasts brand-new abilities, storylines, and villains which makes it Insomniac’s most ambitious Spider-Man game to date. Considering that the first two games made it to PC, many fans might be wondering if it’s the same case for this upcoming title. Let’s take a look.
Can you Play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC?
Sony is marketing this upcoming title as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, which means the game will not make its way to PlayStation 4 or the PC. This marks a major step in Sony’s attempts to move on from its older-gen console to the current-gen PS5.
However, PC users need not fret as the company has been porting its exclusive titles to PCs for a while now. Considering the fact that the previous Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales games made their way to the platform, it won’t be a surprise if this upcoming title also gets scheduled to launch on PC, albeit at a later date.
When Can We Expect to See Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC?
If we take a look at past trends, we can find that the previous Miles Morales title was released on 12th November 2020 for PlayStation and on 18th November 2022 on Steam which gives us a long two-year time frame.
As mentioned above, Sony has slowly bought its exclusive titles to PC with the recent ones being Last of Us Part 1, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Many are also speculating that titles such as Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West are next in line on a long list of PlayStation games supposedly coming to PC.
Sony has also realized that PC can be a lucrative market, especially considering the fact that these ported games garnered a huge amount of revenue for the company, with Last of Us Part 1 making a whopping USD $15 Million since its release this February.
