Kasina x Nike Air Max 1: Release Date, Price, And Where To Buy

Korean streetwear brand Kasina look set to release two new Air Max 1 colourways in collaboration with Nike, leaving many fans wondering if a release date has been revealed so far.

The sneakers are said to celebrate both Kasina’s 25th anniversary as well as the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1, much like how Nike is celebrating the 40th birthday of the Air Force 1 with its upcoming release.

Moreover, with their Won-Ang duck-inspired aesthetic, these sneakers look as though they put in a strong case to be considered as some of the when it comes to their release.

That said, here’s everything we know about the Kasina Air Max 1s so far…

Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 Release Date

The release date for these collaborative sneakers isn’t entirely straightforward.

According to reports, both colourways are currently expected to launch exclusively through the Kasina website on 4 June 2022.

A full release is then said to take place on 8 June via the SNKRS launch page.

Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 Design

As mentioned, these Air Max 1s are inspired by Won-Ang ducks with their combination of premium leather, suede, and pony hair materials along with Kasina’s “Made To Be Together” message.

The first colourway comes dressed in a mandarin duck-themed colour palette, and even features a duck-shaped hangtag to match.

Mandarin ducks are significant in Korean culture as it’s believed that, unlike other types of ducks, they stay together throughout their lives and, when one of them dies, the other will mourn.

As a result, mandarin ducks are often carved out of wood and given as gifts at weddings known as kireogi, hence the “Be Together” message.

The second rendition is inspired by a female mandarin duck’s more muted tones, with the sneakers arriving in a combination of different grey hues mixed with dark jade and hints of off-white.

Furthermore, both sneakers are expected to arrive in special collaborative packaging, with graphics of both the male and female ducks on the lid to round off the over-arching theme.

Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 Price

Neither Kasina nor Nike has revealed exactly how much these Air Max 1s will cost at this moment in time.

That said, previous Kasina x Nike collaborations have retailed for around $120, so this may give an indication as to how much these Air Max 1s will cost upon their arrival.

As mentioned, these Air Max 1s are first expected to arrive at the Kasina, most likely under the new releases subsection.
