Warzone Season 2 Brings Back PDS Field Upgrade
Call of Duty: Warzone has brought back the PDS Field Upgrade, which has not been featured in the game since 2022. With the Season 2 update for the game set to launch on 7th February, fans will just have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the PDS. Developers Raven Software teased the return of the upgrade saying, “An old, strategic friend will be making its return later into the season.” In addition to the PDS, fans have a lot to look forward to including a new map, the Restore Honor feature and more in the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 update. Let’s look at the PDS Field Upgrade coming in Warzone Season 2.
PDS Field Upgrade: What is it?
The Portable Decontamination Station (PDS) is a Field Upgrade featured in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. It allows the player to throw down a PDS to protect themselves or teammates from the gas or the circle collapse for a short period of time. It will last for 20 seconds before being destroyed. A white ring around the PDS indicates a safe area where players can breathe clean air. Enemy squads can destroy the PDS, so players need to be careful where they place the device. You can combine the Irradiated Perk with PDS and gas masks to outlast others by using the gas as a weapon without ever needing to fire a bullet. It was one of the Field Upgrades exclusive to Warzone 2.0.
Raven Software announced the return of the PDS Field upgrade to the game in a tweet:
The PDS Field Upgrade was first introduced in Warzone Pacific season two during 2022. As for the upgrade’s release this season, the PDS does not have an exact release date, but it is slated to arrive “later into the season.”
What is coming to Warzone Season 2
The Call of Duty: Warzone season will add the Fortune’s Keep map Season 2. Many Call of Duty: Warzone influencers have gotten official packages from the developer that implied that the map is returning.
Fans can also look forward to a Call of Duty Warzone Season 2 crossover with The Walking Dead. According to Charlie Intel, after several leaks hinting at the possibility of a Call of Duty x The Walking Dead crossover, Call of Duty have now confirmed that MW3 and Warzone will receive Rick Grimes as an Operator for Season 2.
