Who Is Behind Venom’s Mask in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man 2 has gotten several fans waiting in anticipation as this sequel brings complex new features to a Spiderman game. For the first time in the series, players will take control and switch between two protagonists; Peter Parker and Miles Morales. We also get to see a new villain in the series called Kraven the Hunter and also the return of the space symbiote, Venom.
This third installment showcases Peter Parker sporting the black symbiote suit which makes him more brutal and aggressive towards his enemies. Although Pete now has symbiote powers, he still has to deal with the Venom who seems to be stronger than him, at least in terms of his physical appearance. This has led to several fans speculating about who is really behind Venom’s mask. Let’s try and figure this out.
Who Is the Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
Traditionally, Venom has always been a villain before taking over Peter Parker and turning him into a symbiote-powered brute. However, if we compare the physical attributes of Pete and Venom, we can see that the villain is drastically bigger and muscular than the web-slinger.
As Insomniac and Sony are gearing up for the release of this title, new CGI footage showcasing the two spider superheroes battling it out with Venom has been featured in a new trailer that was released six hours ago.
This Trailer showcases the powers of both Spider-Men with Miles using his electric powers and Peter using flash grenades, and pouncing onto Venom with his customized metal spider arm suit. One important detail to observe here is that we do not see Parker in his black suit, which could possibly mean that he gets his symbiote powers after defeating the Venom.
Which Character Could Possibly Be the Venom?
During the Summer Game Fest, the Creative Director of the game, Bryan Intihar confirmed that Eddie Brock, the journalist, and rival of Parker, will not be the one inside the symbiotic brute this time. Furthermore, he also mentions that with this upcoming title, Insomniac is attempting to tell an Original Story that has not yet been seen in the movies or comics. This certainly comes as a surprise to fans and leads to speculations running rampant across online forums.
So who could possibly be Venom? Could it be Miles? Could it be one of the Osborns? Or could it be Kraven letting himself be a victim of the symbiote’s prowess? Well, we will have our answer in a few more weeks, when the game officially launches on 20th October, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
