Hoyoverse’s official announcements and recent leaks have given us our first real looks at what’s coming in the Genshin Impact 2.7 update.

The patch will introduce two new characters in its Banners, Yelan, a 5-star Hydro character, and Kuki Shinobu, a 4-star Electro that seems to be an electro healer.

Here is everything we know about the Genshin Impact 2.7 update, from its banners to its release date and everything you need to know.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Delayed

Last night, Hoyoverse informed the community that Genshin Impact 2.7 is now indefinitely delayed.

While we didn’t get all the details we may have wanted, Hoyoverse asked players to stay tuned for more details on the Genshin Impact 2.7 update.

According to leakers from the Chinese community, Genshin Impact 2.7 Livestream will take place on May 20, 2022, and the new content will arrive on June 1, 2022.

The day when we were expecting the second phase of Genshin Impact 2.7. It also seems we are receiving at least 10 Intertwined wishes of compensation.

Will there be a filler banner?

It is not certain how long it will take Hoyoverse to release Genshin Impact 2.7, but there seems to be only two paths forward in terms of banners in the meantime. That is to either extend Ayaka’s banner, or offer a filler banner in-between.

The last Genshin Impact filler banner we received was the Keqing banner when Hoyoverse chose to break up the traditional schedule so the next update would land alongside the Chinese New Year. This time, the delay wasn’t a choice, and we have no timeline just yet on how long things will take to get back on track.

Release Date

Genshin Impact 2.7 will go live on May 11, 2022, and run until June 22, 2022.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program

Just a week before a new update Hoyoverse broadcast a Livestream where developers show all the new content coming to the game.

The Genshin Impact 2.7 Livestream was originally expected to go live on Friday, April 29, 2022, at around 8 pm server time (Chinese Standard Time). This has now been postponed with no new date or time given.

This Special Program may be a special one, considering the rumors that the new update will be postponed for a couple of weeks, so instead of the new content, it is possible we receive news of a contingency plan from Hoyoverse instead.

New Banners

Genshin Impact will introduce two new characters, Yelan, a 5-star Hydro bow character, and Kuki Shinobu, a 4-star Electro Character.

It seems Hoyoverse plans to split the new characters into different phases. Yelan will be featured in the first banners, and Kuki is most likely to share a Banner with Arataki Itto in the second half of Genshin Impact 2.7.

Yelan will take part in the story of Ver. 2.6 in the battle against the Spiral Abyss in The Chasm. She is essentially a secret agent from the Ministry of Civil Affairs, so she’ll play an important role.

Kuki Shinobu has been mentioned on several occasions by other characters in the game. Kuki is the sidekick of Arataki Itto and studied law along with Yanfei in Liyue.

Map Changes

The new region, The Chasm, is intended to be revealed in parts, similar to the launch strategy with Inazuma.

Genshin Impact 2.7 will be set in a grand canyon created by the mysterious falling of a celestial body.

New Enemies

There are no details regarding new enemies in the next update, but players can expect the release of a new boss. There are also rumors that a new Fatui Harbinger will also be introduced in the story.

So far data miners believe the new boss will be released before Sumeru, considering the rerun of the Golden Apple Archipielago will take place in Ver. 2.8, though the boss could arrive first in 2.7.

New Weapons Version 2.7

Genshin Impact 2.7 will introduce a new bow called Aqua Simulacra, the signature weapon for Yelan.

Aqua Simulacra

• Base Attack: 542
• Secondary Stat: 88.2 Crit. DMG %
• Passive R5: HP is increased by 32%
  • When there are enemies near the character, the DMG is increased by 40%. This effect will be still detected when the character is on the sidelines.

The update will also include a new 4-star Free Bow called: Fading Twilight that will have as secondary stat Energy Recharge.

Fading Twilight

• Base Attack: 565
• Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
• Passive R5: The weapon has three states: Evengleam, Afterglow, and Dawnblaze increase DMG 6%/10%/14%, respectively.
• When attacks hit enemies, the weapon will switch state every 7 seconds. The character can trigger the effect even being outfield.

New Artifacts

Unfortunately, there are no new artifacts for the upcoming version of Genshin Impact.

Latest – Genshin Impact 2.7 Events

During Genshin Impact, travelers will take part in a new festival organized by Arataki Itto: The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival.

According to his organizer, “the festival is greater than the Irodori Festival and the Lantern Rite celebrations”.

Here is the complete list of events for Genshin Impact 2.7

• Two New Story Quest:
  • Kuki Shinobu Hangout
  • Yelan will be the main character of the next chapter of the Archon Quest
  • The two stories are interconnected.

Main Event: Perilous Trails

• Domain Combat Challenge is very similar to the Labyrinth Warriors, where storyline and battles are combined.
• The event will have several trial characters, including the new character Yelan, so players will have the chance to test her full potential before pulling for her.
• Here is the list of all the Trial Characters so far:
  • Keqing, Shenhe, Qiqi, Yelan, Yanfei, Xingqiu, Yunjin, Chongyun
  • Raiden, Itto, Zhongli, Jean, Yanfei, Ningguang, Sucrose, Gorou
  • Xiao, Kazuha, Yae, Yelan, Diona, Sara, Thoma, Sayu
  • Xiao, Itto, Yae, Zhongli, Diona, Beidou, Sayu, Yunjin
• It seems the event will require quick swap combat, that is why we are receiving many trial characters.
• The main reward will be the 4-star Bow Fading Twilight with Energy Recharge as a secondary stat.

• The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival
  • A music-related event, Arataki itto will, is organizing a big celebration.
  • Reward: New Instrument, a tribal drum.
• Heart of the Machine
  • World exploration event. Players need to collect materials to create a robot toy.
  • New furnishing blueprints for the Serenitea pot will be the main reward.
• A Muddy Bizarre Adventure
  • World exploration combat challenge. Players need to investigate a purple dangerous Mud.
  • The event will be related to the Sumeru storyline, similar to Pursina’s Spike event.
• Genshin Impact 2.7 Spiral Abyss
  • After the active character uses an Elemental Skill, the following effects are granted:
    • Phase 1: +16% Normal Attack DMG for 8s with a max of 3 stacks.
    • Phase 2: mobs hit by the skill have RES -12% for 8s with a max of 3 stacks.
    • Phase 3: the character’s next Normal Attack procs a shockwave, up to once per 1.2s.
