Liquid Boxi Flies Home From Lima Major Due to Medical Emergency

In a sudden turn of events, Team Liquid’s Position 4 player, Samuel “Boxi” Svahn, has withdrawn from the ongoing Lima Major 2022 due to a medical emergency. The announcement was made by Team Liquid’s coach, William “Blitz” Lee, who informed fans that Boxi will be flying home immediately.

The news comes as a shock to fans of the esports team, who had seen them perform exceptionally well in the tournament so far. Boxi played a crucial role in securing a Top 3 finish for Team Liquid in the tournament. However, with his unexpected withdrawal, the team will have to look for a replacement to continue their journey in the tournament.

Team Liquid Analyst Jabbz to Stand in for Boxi

To fill in the void left by Boxi, Team Liquid’s analyst, Mathis “Jabbz” Friesel, will be standing in for the rest of the tournament. According to popular streamer Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski, Jabbz is an 8k MMR player who usually plays the support role in his ranked games.

Coach Blitz requested fans not to speculate on Boxi’s condition and instead focus on sending him love and support. He also thanked Valve for their understanding and Jabbz for stepping in at the last minute.

Team Liquid will face Gaimin Gladiators in the Winner Bracket Finals on March 5, and they will be hoping to secure a win despite Boxi’s absence. Inspite of the setback, the team remains optimistic about their chances and will continue to strive for victory in honor of their teammate.

Team Liquid was primed to be the strongest team competing at the Lima Major 2023 having only lost two games through the entirety of the tournament. Boxi’s absence is obviously going to affect the European team’s stellar play throughout this major. However, last season, OG proved that it is indeed possible to win a tournament with a stand-in. It will be interesting to see if Liquid can replicate the same level of success with a stand-in.

This news serves as a reminder of the importance of health and well-being, even in the high-stakes world of esports. We wish Boxi a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon.
