Top 3 Off-Meta Builds & Picks in League of Legends That Are Overpowered

League of Legends is a game that requires players to opt for certain builds and certain champions in specific roles to achieve a swift and easy victory. However, since the game’s inception, people have been experimenting with item builds and off-meta picks to have some fun on the Summoner’s Rift. Additionally, some of these off-meta builds are proven to work and can give the respite that every League of Legends player craves in the game.

Here are a few off-meta builds and picks that you can test out in your casual games, not in a particular order.

Taric Jungle

The reason why Taric jungle works is that players can achieve a faster clear in the camps by efficiently using his passive – Bravado which grants Taric high attack speed and damage.

Taric

Bravado: Spell casts empower Taric’s next two basic attacks to deal bonus magic damage, reduce his spell cooldowns, and attack in quick succession.

Spell weaving like Lee Sin is vital while playing Taric. According to Challenger jungle Taric player lightrocket2, one can use this common combo for clearing camps. It is as follows:

E – Dazzle + Auto attack + auto attack + W – Bastion + auto attack + auto attack + Q – Starlight’s touch + auto attack + auto attack. Players can keep repeating the Q into auto attacks combo until E is back up from cool down.

Players need to be vigilant while using spells since Taric’s kit is very mana heavy and can drain him if not used properly. Ganking with Taric should not be very stressful since players can tether to another laner with W – Bastion and use E – Dazzle and Q – Starlight’s touch to enable perfect fights. His R – Cosmic Radiance will ensure that players can stay alive even while diving enemies under their towers post level six.

Players can opt for different runes and items according to their in-game counters for better results.

Off-meta Attack Damage (AD) Ahri

Ahri went from being completely neglected to a priority pick in League of Legends after her mini-rework. Riot Games released her mini-rework in LoL Patch 12.3 and it was very well received by the community. In fact, she had a 100% pick and ban rate at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2022 along with attack-damage carry (ADC) champion, Lucian.

Pro player and G2 Esports mid-laner Rasmus “caPs” Borregaard Winther reportedly popularized the attack damage (AD) Ahri in the mid-lane as he was spamming her on the Europe West (EUW) ranked ladder in Challenger tier.

Ahri’s passive now allows her to collect Essence Fragments from enemy minions and monsters. Spirit Fire (R) gains an extra charge and sees its duration extended every time Ahri consumes an enemy champion’s essence through her passive.

The crucial items in her off-meta build happen to be Kraken Slayer and Runaan’s Hurricane coupled with Lethal Tempo and Domination runes. Despite all the nerfs that were thrown at her to tune her kit, the AD build still works fine with her new Ultimate.

Soraka Top Lane

Soraka top lane is one of the most annoying things one has to deal with. On top of being an extremely irritating champion to 1v1, she can also act as the secondary support in the game and aid her carry champions.

Soraka

The one thing to remember is to hit your Q – Starcall every time and it can be a bit difficult to do that if you are against mobile champions. Hitting Qs on enemies will grant you sustain and also help you to poke them down slowly. One can opt for Aery and Resolve runes and pick up support items including Moonstone Renewer, Chemtech Putrifier, and maybe even Warmog’s Armor to keep your health replenished at all times.
